Our security company was tasked with designing and installing a comprehensive, state-of-the-art security and fire alarm system at the LGMG Depot in Liverpool. The project required an integrated approach to enhance site safety, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure quick detection of fire hazards.
ABOUT LGMG:
LGMG is a global leader in the manufacturing of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), specializing in providing safe and reliable aerial work platforms for various industries. Their products include scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other MEWPs, which are used for construction, maintenance, and other high-access tasks. As a rapidly expanding company, LGMG is known for its commitment to safety and innovation in aerial work equipment, making them a key player in the industrial and construction sectors.
SCOPE OF WORK:
We installed and commissioned a range of advanced systems, including:
Hikvision DeepinMind CCTV System: The CCTV system utilizes cutting-edge video analytics to monitor the premises remotely, 24/7. This system features Deep Learning technology, offering real-time identification of potential threats such as unauthorized personnel. The system is integrated with a public address (PA) system for audio challenges, enabling remote personnel to issue real-time warnings to intruders, preventing security breaches before escalation
Pyronix Euro 76 Intruder Alarm System: A Grade 2B Pyronix Euro 76 intruder alarm system was installed throughout the property, offering a high level of protection against unauthorized entry. This system includes a multi-point detection setup, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the depot's interior and exterior zones, reducing the risk of undetected breaches. The system benefits from Police Response to the premises, with an active Unique Reference Number (URN) in place, ensuring swift law enforcement intervention in the event of a confirmed alarm activation. Remote monitoring provides added peace of mind for the client.
Paxton Net2 Pro Access Control: To manage personnel access and track staff activity on-site, we implemented a Paxton Net2 Pro Software access control system. This solution integrates timesheet tracking functionality, enabling management to monitor employee working hours effectively. The system enhances security by restricting access to sensitive areas while offering a full audit trail of personnel movements.
C-Tec Addressable Fire Alarm System: We installed a C-Tec addressable fire alarm system, adhering to Category L3 of BS5839-1 (2017) standards. This system provides early detection of fires, particularly in escape routes and high-risk areas. The addressable nature of the system allows for precise identification of fire locations, significantly reducing response time in the event of an emergency.
CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
One of the primary challenges was integrating the diverse systems into a cohesive solution that could be monitored and managed remotely. By utilizing Hikvision's DeepinMind technology and Paxton's Net2 Pro software, we provided the client with a centralized system that offers both security and operational insights in real-time. This not only improved the security infrastructure but also enhanced staff management capabilities.
RESULTS
The installation of these advanced systems has drastically improved the security and safety of the LGMG Depot. The remote monitoring capabilities ensure continuous oversight, while the access control and fire alarm systems comply with stringent industry standards.
